Matteo De Poli

Born in Venice on February 7, 1963. Graduated in Law from the University of Padua in 1987, admitted to the Bar in 1990, admitted to practice before the Supreme Court in 2002, he leads the lawyers and consultants who are part of De Poli Law Firm and the youngest collaborators of CSDP, the research center of De Poli Law Firm. From 1993 to 2002 he taught Civil Law at the Faculty of Economics of Cà Foscari University in Venice; since 2004 he is Associate Professor of Capital Markets Law in the Faculty of Law of Padua University, where he teaches Capital Markets Law and Banking Law and is a member of the Doctorate of Research in Jurisprudence Board at the Faculty of Law.
He is the author of many essays on Contract Law and Corporate Law (the latest are La contrattazione bancaria. Tra tutela della liquidità e obblighi di trasparenza, Padova 2012; Crisi finanziaria globale e fattori comportamentali, in Analisi Giuridica dell'Economia, 1/2012; I mezzi dell’attività ingannatoria e la reticenza da Alberto Trabucchi alla stagione della trasparenza contrattuale, in Riv. dir. civ. 2011; La rescissione del contratto, Napoli 2011; L’adempimento con strumenti alternativi di pagamento, in Trattato delle obbligazioni, Padova 2010; La Corporate Governance delle banche inglesi quotate, in Rivista trimestrale di diritto dell'economia, 2010, Supplemento); he counsels banks, financial enterprises and companies and some of the most important Venetian cultural associations;
He is a President of the Arbitration Court of the Arbitration Centre in Treviso; arbitrator from Consob Arbitration Centre; member of the Supervision Board of a Bank Foundation; academic member of the European Corporate Governance Institute, member of the "Associazione Disiano Preite per lo studio del diritto dell’impresa" and of the Association "Il Trust in Italia”.
